The VR Companies Shaking Up Location-Based Entertainment

Best known for Terminator Salvation: Fight For The Future, Spaces is a startup co-founded by Shiraz Akmal and Brad Herman, former Dreamworks veterans who ran a division called DreamLab focused on new kinds of immersive experiences. Spaces has locations in America, China, and Japan with more coming soon.

In the Terminator experience, teams of four people are outfitted from head to toe in VR gear and a blaster and can move freely on a shaking platform. Fans, misters and heat lamps help bring the animation to life. Spaces offers take home videos of your experience—a nice little souvenir.
